ICI Services is looking for a motivated individual who wants to join our team in support of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in New Orleans, LA. We are a mid-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Services, and Technical Services to government clients in 20 states and the District of Columbia. We need an Entry-Level Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC) Production/QA – Lead Waterfront ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

Security Clearance:
Applicant must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance

Individual provides production and quality management support to the Amphibious Warfare Program Office, PMS 377 for the new construction of the Ship to Shore Connector (SSC)

Utilizes working knowledge of shipboard pipe fabrication, installations and testing to support Navy team providing oversight for new construction shipbuilding effort

Reviews and interprets ship specification/drawing requirements

Employs understanding of military and commercial installation requirements (DOD STD 2003, IEEE), of military fabrication requirements (Mil-Std-22, Mil-Std -271, Mil-Std-278), and structure fabrication standard MIL-STD-1689 to support construction efforts for SSC

Support PMS 377 and SUPSHIP Gulf Coast in verification of Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) modifications and completion progress on all shipboard systems, to include those affecting system/ship certifications, for the SSC shipbuilding programs.

Develop and maintaining spreadsheets to track all approved Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)

Provided SUPSHIP Gulf Coast Program Manager’s Representative with assistance on all Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) and C4N systems changes throughout the craft

Utilizing lessons learned during shipboard inspections to assist in verifying correct system installation

Identify deficiencies in design drawings and initiate process for corrections

Experience Requirements:
Previous experience in ship construction, production control and quality control inspection highly desired

Naval Landing Craft operational experience highly desired

Read and interpret ship specification / drawing requirements

Use computers for the entry of inspection results and documentation of contract violations in a corrective action request

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Basic Microsoft Office program skills

Proven ability to interact with internal and external customers

Proven ability to work well in team environment

Educational Requirements:
BS degree in a technical field preferred, BA might be acceptable depending on course of study
