Under the direction of the Building Services Coordinator, this position is responsible for general maintenance, office relocation, heavy lifting and related clean-up work in and around the various Calgary Police Service (CPS) buildings. Responsibilities include:
Ensure CPS facilities meet predetermined standards.
Maintain custodial duties and complete building and maintenance work orders.
Participate in the relocation of offices and personnel.
Assist with the delivery and installation of office furniture and accessories.
Remove snow and ice control activities.
High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. G.E.D.).
A minimum of two years related building maintenance experience.
A 5th Class power engineering ticket is an asset.
You are an excellent communicator with relationship building skills that help to coach and develop. You are able to anticipate challenges and prioritize urgent issues, optimizing time and resources while making effective decisions and providing excellent customer service.
An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (or provincial equivalent) and a Driving Record Abstract (current within three months) with no more than six demerit points must be provided if contacted for an interview.
Periodically required to be on standby during ‘off hours’ to report or respond immediately to call-out.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety-sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.

Days of Work: This position works a 5 and 4 day
